Does anyone have a manual I can get a copy of. Thanks BillTry: Manuals and Literature As far as replacing the blade, I have the quick change adapter on mine so it may be a bit different. I think without the quick change both the top and bottom work the same: the blades go into holders at the top and bottom, and are held in by a small hex nut. The holders then snap into clips on the top and bottom arms. The bottom is a bit of a pain to see, but snaps in easily if the blade isn't pushed too far into the holder and interferes. I'm not sure this makes any sense, but it may get you in the right direction. If you don't get better help I'll pull out my camera and manual and can give some better directions, although it may take a few days due to the holiday. --RobI called Dremel and they were great. They sent a photocopied manual out to me no problem, and no cost. The only thing you will need to let them know is which type of the 1671 you have. I believe there are three types, mine is a type 3. You can find out on the info plate on the side.

As far as changing blades, I got the E-Z Set Blade Holder System for my saw from Pozsgai's Designs, and I am very glad I did. It makes it so much more enjoyable. Hope this helps. Really the two hardest things to make were the fenders an roof. Getting them to blend into other parts took some added work. It was operating smooth and semi-quiet until I started to make a second cut for a puzzle. They do not conduct electricity. There are however, 'brushes' inside of the motor that may be at fault. Secondly, there may be an alignment problem with the scroll arm, or frozen bushing there that is causing the trouble.I replaced the speed control unit 2615303002 along with the potentiometer control and it didn't help it still goes full blast.
