Did your family and friends approve of your ex? They're the ones who know you best and want you to be with someone who makes you happy and loves you for everything you are.

Are you still in love with them?

It's perfectly normal to be lonely after your ex is gone, even if you were the one who asked them to leave. But do you miss him or her more than you ever imagined? Are you starting to appreciate the uniquely special qualities of that person? Does the thought of them with anyone else make you sick? Maybe you still love them, despite everything. If there's still a lot of love in your heart, maybe it is worth giving it another chance.

Can you forgive and move forward?

Maybe your ex cheated on you and it still hurts like hell. Was it a one-time slip on their part? Did it happen during a bad time in your relationship? Have they promised it'll never happen again? Are they sincerely sorry?

If you think you really have the ability to forgive them, put it behind you and start anew, there's always a chance your relationship can work out. Some people can't let an indiscretion slide. It just depends on who you are.
